Rutherford County -- September 26, 2023: Detectives from the "Street Crimes Unit" of the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office stopped a car on S. Broadway St. in Forest City last week. 

Rutherford County -- September 25, 2023: Rutherford County Sheriff's Officers attempted to stop a motorcycle on US Highway 221 South yesterday. 

McDowell County -- Vicky Ballard McKinney, 56, is accused of felonious possession of methamphetamine and breaking and entering by the McDowell County Sheriff's Office. A secured bail for $2,500 was given to McKinney.

McDowell County -- September 25, 2023: The McDowell County Sheriff's Office filed a felonious possession of methamphetamine complaint against Jeremiah Forster Cable, 37.

Charlotte --  Jeremy Isaih Perdue, 36, of Charlotte, was sentenced to 48 months in prison for illegal possession of a firearm, announced Dena J. King, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina.

Charlotte -- A U.S. Postal Carrier and her husband appeared in federal court on September 15, 2023 pleaded guilty to federal charges for conspiring to commit an extensive mail theft scheme, announced Dena J. King, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina. Kiara Padgett, 29, of Waxhaw, N.C., and her spouse, Dominique Dunlap, 28, of Charlotte, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bank fraud. Dunlap also pleaded guilty to four counts of possession of stolen mail.

Charlotte -- A federal grand jury in Charlotte has indicted Mandy Deann Urban, 47, formerly of Charlotte, with wire fraud, for allegedly embezzling more than $1.1 million from her employer, announced Dena J. King, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina.

Asheville -- September 25, 2023: Early on Saturday morning Asheville Police attempted to stop a 2021 Dodge Challenger fitting the description of a car that was driving away from the scene of a downtown assault.

Asheville -- September 21, 2023: Surveillance footage from May 9, 2022, at a Starbucks in south Asheville, has led to the arrest of a man by Asheville detectives.
