
Two People Face Numerous Drug Charges in McDowell County
McDowell County -- The McDowell County Sheriff's Office Community Impact Team accused Marion resident Wesley Burton, 37, and Old Fort resident Casey Robinson, 32, with numerous drug-related charges.
On June 18, the vehicle driven by Burton was stopped for a traffic infraction in the Old Fort neighborhood on Wednesday, June 18. Robinson was a passenger.
Following a check of the vehicle, fentanyl (8.9 grams) and drug paraphernalia were found to be trafficking quantities.
Charges:
• Heroin or opium trafficking (2 charges each)
• Possession of a Schedule 1 controlled substance with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver one count each
• One count of felony possession of a Schedule 1 controlled substance
• Misdemeanor Drug Paraphernalia Possession (1 count each)
A felony charge of Maintaining a Vehicle, Dwelling, or Place for Controlled Substance was also brought against Robinson. A $100,000 secured bond was established for her.
Because Burton was already on pretrial release, he was not granted a bond.
