Apply Now for New PIVOT Scholarship at HCC

Haywood County -- June 26, 2024: The Haywood Community College Foundation recently launched the PIVOT Scholarship,

designed to support students pursuing careers in high-demand, high-skilled, and high-wage fields. This initiative is an effort to align educational opportunities with the economic needs of the region, encouraging students to enter fields that are crucial for local development and promising stable, well-paying jobs.

Eligible programs for this scholarship include Automotive Systems Technology, Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology, Cosmetology, Criminal Justice, Electrical Systems Technology, and several others. To qualify for the PIVOT Scholarship, students must enroll in a minimum of six credit hours, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), submit the HCC Scholarship applications, and engage with a career planner. Maintaining satisfactory academic progress is also a requirement to continue benefiting from the scholarship.

This scholarship not only covers tuition but also fees, books, and necessary supplies, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder capable students from pursuing their educational goals. It represents a strategic investment in the workforce of tomorrow, equipping students with the skills needed to thrive in sectors critical to the regional economy.
