Investigation Leads to Arrest of Two People

Jackson County -- September 24, 2024: Jackson County Sheriff's Office: On 09/22/2024 at around 7 pm deputies

were working in the US 74 area of Sylva. 

Deputies observed a vehicle they were familiar with turning into the Clarion Hotel Parking area. Deputies were also aware the subject usually driving has a suspended license. Deputies made contact with the driver once the vehicle came to be parked behind the hotel. Deputies called for Police Canine from Sylva Police Department. Canine gave a positive alert to the vehicle. After the investigation was complete deputies located approximately 6.0 grams of suspected fentanyl. The following person was arrested:

Trafficking Opium or Heroin X2
Possession of drug paraphernalia
PWISD controlled substance
Maintain Veh/Dwell/Place CS
Conspiracy to Sell/Deliver SCH II CS

Dylan Samuel Hoyle:
Trafficking Opium or Heroin X2
Conspiracy
PWISD controlled substance
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Possession of schedule IV CS (mis.)
