Asheville Police Announce Passing of K9 Boss

Asheville Police Department announced the loss of a partner and friend of Senior Police Officer Michael Sorenson,

K9 Boss gave his all to you and his time as a police dog. 

We know he is missed. We honor his memory for the service he gave and the love I'm sure he brought into your life, Officer Sorenson.

It is with great sadness that we announce passing of K9 Boss. Over the weekend Boss came down with a sudden illness, and despite hospitalization and surgery, he passed away peacefully on July 12.
Boss was an active duty K9 at the Asheville Police Department since 2014. He was 8 years old and a German Shepherd. K9 Boss and Senior Police Officer Michael Sorenson have been partners since 2019.
