Asheville Police Investigating Gun Discharge Involving Stolen Vehicle
Asheville -- An early-morning shooting and a stolen car in West Asheville are under investigation by the Asheville Police Department.
Fortunately, no one was hurt; just property damage has been reported.
Around 2:32 a.m. on July 6th, officers were called to an apartment complex on Cordova Street to look into reports of gunfire. The culprits had already left the site when the police arrived. Officers found two structures and an apartment that had been hit by gunfire while conducting their investigation. No victims were identified, but broken glass was also discovered strewn across the roadway.
Officers discovered an unoccupied car with several bullet holes close to the intersection of State Street and Short Michigan Avenue a short while later. The car that was engaged in the gun discharge was found to have been recently stolen from a nearby residence.
