Victim Spots Stolen Trailer, Follows Suspect Until Sheriffs Arrive

McDowell County, NC -- April 22, 2019 Victim spots stolen trailer and follows suspect until deputy arrives .

Deputy Steven McPeters of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Jason Edwin Wallace, 41, address listed as Wheeler Drive in Marion, with larceny, possession of stolen goods, damage to personal property and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On the afternoon of Sunday, March 24, McPeters responded to a call in reference to a victim who was following a truck pulling the victim’s stolen utility trailer on Marler Road.
McPeters stopped the suspect vehicle and found Wallace driving. Further investigation uncovered drug paraphernalia in the truck.The 20-foot utility trailer, owned by William Childers of Marion, was stolen from a location on U.S. 221 North on March 24. The $3,000 trailer was recovered.
