Haywood County --  Press Release Haywood County Government:  The Haywood County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council announces

$182,420 in funds  available for 2025-2027 from the

 NC Department of Public Safety for services for juvenile-court-involved youth in Haywood County.  These funds will help the community meet needs previously identified during the annual planning process.  The following types of  services will be considered for funding: 
 

Mentoring Services 
 Parent/Family Skill Building 
 Vocational Skills 
 Experiential Skills 
 Tutoring/Academic Enhancement  
Mediation/Conflict Resolution  
Substance Misuse Prevention Education  
Group Home/Temporary Shelter Care  
Runaway Shelter Care 
 Juvenile Structured Day 
Restitution/Community Service 
 Teen Court/Sentencing Circles  
Psychological Assessments 
 Family Counseling 
 Home Based Family Counseling 
 Individual/Group/Mixed Counseling 
 Services Addressing Problem Sexual Behavior  
Specialized Foster Care 
 Temporary Foster Care 

Services should target the following risk factors or needs related to delinquency,  or repeat delinquency:  Mental Health Concerns; Substance  Use Prevention/Education;  Negative Peer Interaction; Family Discord; Physical Abuse; Sexual Vulnerability.
 Programs should be compatible with juvenile justice research, be outcome-based, have  an evaluation component, and detect youth and divert youth from gang participation.  Programs that integrate work-readied skills will be given special consideration.  Any local  public agency, a 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation, and local housing authorities are invited to apply.   In order to apply for FY 2025-2027 JCPC funding, new programs must complete and submit an application online by accessing NC ALLIES.  Please review instructions at the following link:

After submitting the application electronically, send a copy via email to Haywood JCPC  Chair:  gayla.jones@haywoodcountync.gov  by  March 14,  2025 at 5:00 PM.
