FEMA Extends Transtional Housing Assistance to Over 3,000 WNC Families
WNC -- January 14, 2024: FEMA announced another extension for over 3,000 Western North Carolina residents of the deadline in the Transitional Housing Assistance Program until January 25, 2025.
At 8:12 pm. last night FEMA posted the following on X:
"FEMA is extending the Transitional Sheltering Assistance hotel stays until Jan. 25 for 3,000+ who are eligible. Families checking out Jan. 14 are returning to habitable homes or withdrew from FEMA assistance If someone still needs help, please call 800-621-3362."

"My team and I have been working hard to maintain temporary housing assistance for people in western NC. I thank our partners at FEMA for hearing our calls and extending Transitional Sheltering Assistance through January 25 for 3,000+ families. If you are without housing because of the storm, call FEMA at 800-621-3362 so you will have a safe place."
