Swain County --  November 25, 2024: On Thursday, the Sheriff's Office announced  locating a wanted individual with

 assistance from the Cherokee Indian Police Department:

The Swain County Sheriff's Office is pleased to announce that Johnathan David Taylor, who was wanted in connection with an assault inflicting serious injury, has been located with the invaluable assistance of the Cherokee Indian Police Department.

Johnathan David Taylor, born on November 3, 1986, was apprehended on 11/21/2024 following a thorough investigation and
the cooperation of both the Swain County Sheriff's Office and the Cherokee Indian Police Department. The Swain County Sheriff's

Office extends its gratitude to the public and the Cherokee Indian Police Department for their assistance and support in this matter.
Sheriff's Statement: "We are relieved to have located Johnathan Taylor and ensure the safety of our community. The collaboration with the Cherokee Indian Police Department was instrumental in this successful apprehension. We appreciate the efforts of our officers, the Cherokee Indian Police Department, and the invaluable tips from the public that led to his apprehension," said Curtis Cochran, Sheriff of Swain County.
