Black Mountain Man Guilty of Animal Cruelty, Dogs Abandoned & Starved

Black Mountain -- September 21, 2024: Buncombe County Sheriff's Office Press Release: Tyson Holloway pled guilty, 

and was convicted of Animal Cruelty on Thursday, September 12, 2024.

Last year, on November 29, 2023, Corporal Ecklund and Deputy Draper with the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office Animal Crimes Unit responded to a call for service at 141 Cragmont Road in Black Mountain, North Carolina. Upon arrival, Corporal Ecklund and Deputy Draper discovered the decomposing remains of two Caine Corsos, who appeared to have been abandoned and starved to death. The property owners informed Corporal Ecklund that Tyson Holloway, also known as T.J., owned the dogs. The Animal Crimes Unit brought the remains to the N.C. Veterinary Diagnostic Lab for necropsy testing, which confirmed starvation as the cause of death.

The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office charged Tyson Holloway with two counts of Failure to Dispose of Animal Remains, two counts of Abandonment, and two counts of Animal Cruelty. Tyson Holloway pled guilty and was convicted of one count of Animal Cruelty.
