Vehicle Hits Building in Haywood County

Lake Junaluska -- July 9, 2024: Lake Junaluska Fire Department Report: At around 12:28 this afternoon,

Junaluska Fire Department along with Haywood County Emergency Services were dispatched to High Country Signs on Dellwood Road in reference to a vehicle into the Building.

Assistance was requested from Maggie Valley Fire and Rescue. Tac18 arrived on the scene, updated the address to WNC Chimney Solutions, established Incident Command, and requested Stabilization Equipment. Haywood County ES7 requested support from NC EM Task Force 2 from Buncombe County. 

While Task Force 2 and MAMA1 were being deployed, Crews on scene worked diligently and after an extensive 48-minute extrication time, the patient was extricated and flown to the nearest Trauma Center. Crews on scene then assisted placing wood panels on the building to secure the opening.
