Buncombe County Man Convicted of Trafficking Fentanyl
Buncombe County -- August 7, 2025: District Attorney Todd Williams declared that 43-year-old Erron Thomas Wolicki was found guilty on two counts of trafficking heroin and opium.
Judge Stetzer sentenced Wolicki to a minimum of 70 months and a maximum of 93 months in jail, as well as a $500,000 fine, after he entered a guilty plea to the charges.
The Asheville Police Department officers were conducting surveillance on March 7, 2025, when the conviction occurred. When officers saw what they thought was a drug transaction, they pulled over a car that was involved.
Wolicki, who was in the car when the stop occurred, told the police that he had swallowed cocaine. After receiving medical attention at a nearby hospital, 21 grams of fentanyl were found.
