Traffic Stop Leads to Gun Charges

Franklin -- March 22, 2024: At about 10:00 PM on Friday, March 8, 2024, a Franklin police officer was engaged in

traffic enforcement activities on the western side of the town a traffic violation was observed. The officer made an effort to halt the car, resulting in a subsequent pursuit of the vehicle.

The vechicle traveled a short distance prior to ultimately coming to a halt. During the investigation, it was ascertained that the individuals inside the vehicle disposed of a pistol while being pursued. The weapon was situated adjacent to the road and the serial number was altered.

Chandler Reed Stanley of Franklin was charged:

Felony Possession of Firearm by Felon

Felony Alter/Remove Gun Serial Number, Misdemeanor Flee/Elude Arrest, Driving While License Revoked, No Liability Insurance, No Registration, Brake/Stop Light Equipment Violation, and Drive Left of Center.
He was issued a $20,000 secured bond.

Samantha Nichelle Ramsey of Franklin was charged:

Felony Possession of Firearm by Felon

Felony Alter/Remove Gun Serial Number

Felony Possess Controlled Substance on Prison/Jail Premises
Felony Possess Heroin, and Resisting Public Officer.
She was issued a $10,000 secured bond.
