Buncombe County --  July 18, 2025: Buncombe County Court sentenced a man to at least 10 years in prison Thursday on charges related to a string of robberies that occurred in west Asheville in January 2024.

Lamon Lewis Goggans was convicted by a Buncombe County jury on July 17th of two Class D felonies—robbery with a dangerous weapon and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The Class D felonies were upgraded to Class C felonies when the jury determined that Goggans met the requirements to be considered a habitual criminal.  He received a prison term ranging from 120 to 156 months.
