Rutherford County -- March 10, 2024: Over the past year the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit

has partnered with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations (SBI), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and

Explosives (ATF), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Forest City Police Department, and has been conducting an ongoing investigation on a local group who call themselves “448 Whole Lotta Weight”, for conspiracy to traffic Fentanyl and firearm violations. During the course of the investigation Investigators have seized Kilograms of yellow T/189 pressed fentanyl pills during undercover operations.

This investigation is ongoing, and at this point, investigators have secured federal indictments and have arrested the following thus far in the investigation.


Ezekiel Lee Suber 25 years old, of Forest City has been charged with Conspiracy to possess with intent to sell and deliver Sch II, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking. Suber has been placed in federal custody pending trial.

Darien Akiel Brown 22 years old, of Forest City has been charged with Conspiracy to possess with intent to sell and deliver Sch II. Brown has been placed in federal custody pending trial.

Elijah McDowell 21 years old, of Forest City has been charged with Conspiracy to possess with intent to sell and deliver Sch II.
Jocelyn Hamilton 24 years old, of Charlotte has been charged with Conspiracy to possess with intent to sell and deliver Sch II.
