Rutherford County Man Faces Meth Trafficking Charges

Rutherford County -- December 15, 2023: Rutherford County Sheriff's Office announced the following this morning:

On Thursday, 12/14/2023, Investigators with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit, assisted by Investigators with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, were patrolling the area of Bostic Sunshine Highway in the Golden Valley Community. While on patrol, Investigators conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. During the investigation, Investigators requested the assistance of Officer Mark McCracken and K9 Thor with the Forest City Police Department. K9 Thor conducted a free-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted him to the odor of narcotics. A search of the vehicle was conducted. During the search, Investigators located 34 grams of methamphetamine. As a result, the driver, Joshua Wayne Cuthbertson, 30 of Rutherfordton, was arrested and charged with the following:
-Trafficking in Methamphetamine
Cuthbertson received no bond until seen by a district court judge due to already being out on bond for Trafficking Methamphetamine along with other criminal matters.
