Police Find Man in Stolen Sweater, Drinking Thanksgiving Morning

Asheville -- November 28, 2023: Asheville Police were called to a breaking and entering in progress at a business Thanksgiving morning.

When police arrived at the business they discovered 30-year-old Willie Lee Watkins drinking from an open margarita bottle and wearing a sweater that had been reported stolen from a store earlier in the day.

Watkins was charged with the following:

-Felony Breaking and Entering
-Felony Larceny After Breaking and Entering
-Damage to Real Property
Watkins was booked into the Buncombe County Jail under a $3,000 secured bond (or $300 to a bondsman) issued by the magistrate.
