Two Men Wanted Arrested in Rutherford County

Rutherford County -- October 8, 2023: On Sunday, Deputy Sheriffs of Rutherford County conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle occupied by two men.

Joseph Ray Bennett attempted to avoid arrest by providing the identity and identification card of a deceased victim,  Both subjects were fugitives with multiple arrest warrants and court orders. The occupants of the vehicle, later identified as Joseph Ray Bennett and Ricky Joe Leburn, were apprehended and charged with the following:

Felony Identity Theft
Felony probation violation
Possess Methamphetamine
Possess Schedule II CS
Simple Possession Schedule III CS
(2) Simple Possession Schedule IV CS
(2) Simple Possession Schedule VI CS
Possess Drug Paraphernalia
Possess Marijuana Paraphernalia
Mr. Bennett received a $20,000 secured bond.

Felony probation violation
Possess Schedule II CS
Simple Possession Schedule IV CS
Simple Possession Schedule VI CS
Possess Drug Paraphernalia
Possess Marijuana Paraphernalia
Mr. Leburn received a $10,000 secured bond.
