Candler Man Charged, Faces Drug and Trafficking Charges

(May 12, 2023) On Thursday, members of Buncombe County Illegal Gun Reduction and Narcotics Task Force (IGRANT), Haywood County Sheriffβs Office Narcotics Unit, and DEA-Asheville Post executed a search warrant at a motel room in Candler.
As a result of the search warrant, the following items were seized:
.54 pounds or 249 Grams of Methamphetamine
.25 pounds or 114.1 Grams of Fentanyl
29.4 Grams of Cocaine
194.2 Grams of Ephedrine
$4,034 in U.S. currency
Stacey Eugene Lail, age 49, of Candler, was taken into custody and charged with the following:
β’ Two counts of Trafficking Methamphetamine
β’ Trafficking Fentanyl
β’ Trafficking Cocaine
β’ Felony PWIMSD SCH I
β’ Felony PWIMSD SCH II
β’ Felony PWIMSD SCH II CS
β’ Felony Maintaining a VEH/DWELL/PLACE Controlled Substance
β’ Two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Mr. Lail is being held at the Buncombe County Detention Facility on a $30,000 bond.
