Fourth Suspect Arrested in Murder Case

Union County -- March 24, 2023: A fourth individual has been accused of a Monroe woman, whose body
was discovered on national forest

grounds in Jackson County earlier this month.

Shawn Adkins, 29, is accused of conspiring to murder Alison Thomas of Union County, North Carolina,
and was apprehended apprehended by the U.S. Marshals i in Hinton, West Virginia, on March 22.
Adkins is detained and awaiting extradition to North Carolina. This information comes from the Union CountySheriff's
Office.
