Traffic Stop Leads to Foot Chase, Drug Charges
Rutherford County -- March 24, 2023: On Tuesday, 03/21/2023, Deputy Caitlin Condrey,
with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office,
was patrolling the area of the Bostic Community. Deputy Condrey conducted a vehicle stop. The driver,
identified as Andy Darren Green, fled the scene at a high rate of speed, leading Deputies on a pursuit through the
Bostic area, into Cleveland County, and back into Rutherford County, before coming to a stop.
The driver fled on foot. Lt. Corey Smith and his K9 partner, “Gitmo”, responded to assist in apprehension of the driver. With the assistance of other members of C Crew, Deputies to take the suspect into custody. The driver was found to be in possession of a large amount of Methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia. Andy Darren Green, of Ellenboro, was arrested and charged with the following:
TRAFFICKING METHAMPHETAMINE
MAINTAINING A VEHICLE FOR CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
FLEE/ELUDE ARREST WITH A MOTOR VEHICLE
RECKLESS DRIVING TO ENDANGER
POSSESS DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
RESISTING PUBLIC OFFICER
SIMPLE POSSESSION SCHEDULE IV CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
Green, already out on bond from similar charges in January 2023, was given a $75,000 secured bond.
