Police Officer Charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor

Oconee County -- March 1, 2023:  A Candler man turned himself into the Oconee County
Sheriff's Office February 27, 2023.

Adam Robert Cabe, 41, was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a juvenile.

The victim's family was contacted by a deputy from the sheriff's office on October 10, 2022, regarding a claim of inappropriate touching between Cabe and a child.
 The alledged incident took place at the High Falls Campsite on Lake Keowee on August 13, 2022.
According to deputies, it was concluded that Cabe did touch the youngster inappropriately after gathering the evidence.

Cabe was then taken into custody and is now being held there pending a bond hearing.

Cabe worked for the Asheville Police Department for 10 years, in  August 2022 alleged sexual act occurred.   Later, in Augu 2022, he quit the APD and started working for the Biltmore Forest Police.
