Driver in Rutherford County Faces Drug Charges
Rutherford -- February 20, 2023: While Deputy Joseph McComas of the Rutherford County
Sheriff's Office was on patrol near
Shires Road in Ellenboro on Friday, 02/17/2023, he pulled over a vehicle for a number of registration, equipment,
and safe movement infractions. Deputy McComas observed numerous small baggies in the car when conversing with the driver. The driver acknowledged having other drug paraphernalia in his possession. Deputy McComas requested K9 Koda and his handler for assistance.
The K9 performed a free air sniff. After K9 Koda detected the smell of drugs, a search was carried out. Methamphetamine, marijuana, pills, and drug paraphernalia were discovered by the deputies.
Beatrice Marie Shires, the driver, and Timothy Llyod Greene, the passenger, both of Ellenboro, were detained and charged with the following:

PWIMSD METHAMPHETAMINE
SIMPLE POSSESS SCH IV (X2)
SIMPLE POSSESS SCH VI
POSSESS DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
Shires was given a $5,000 secured bond.
Timothy Llyod Greene:
Possess Drug Paraphernalia
Greene was given a $500 secured bond.
