Investigation Continues in Asheville Shooting, Go Fund Me Setup
Asheville -- On the night of February 3, 2023, tragedy struck the Cedillo-Morales family
as Alejandro Cedillo-Morales
was shot in his own home. The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the shooting, no suspects
at this time.
Multiple shots were fired at the residence, with Mr. Cedillo-Morales being the only victim. He was transported to Mission Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The Asheville community is in shock, as Mr. Cedillo-Morales was a well-respected member of the community and a devoted father to his two young children. A fund has been established to assist the family with medical expenses and other needs during this difficult time.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the Cedillo-Morales family during this devastating time," says Mayor Esther of Asheville. "We are doing everything in our power to bring the person responsible to justice and provide support to the family."
The Buncombe County Sherrif's Office is urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward. They have promised to keep the community updated as the investigation progresses.
In the meantime, the community is rallying around the Cedillo-Morales family, offering their support and making donations to the fund established in Alejandro's name. The outpouring of love and support is a testament to the tight-knit community in Asheville and the impact that Mr. Cedillo-Morales had on those around him.
This story is still developing, and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
The family has setup a Go Fund Me to help the family in this difficult time.
From the Go Fund Me Page:
Early this morning, one of our long-time Cúrate employees, Alejandro Cedillo-Morales, was shot when a passerby took aim at his home from the outside, and also targeted other homes nearby. Alejandro's room is at the front of the house, and he was shot 3 times while sleeping in his bed. Thankfully, his family, including 6 children in the home and his sister were unharmed in this tragic and violent attack.
Alejandro has worked for Cúrate since the day it opened 12 years ago. He is the heart of our restaurant. Training protocols are modeled after his incredible work ethic and positive energy, now referred to as "The Alejandro Method." Anytime a person has the good fortune to cross paths with Alejandro, they are better for it. If you have ever dined at Cúrate, there is no question that Alejandro influenced the success of your experience. He is an integral part of the Cúrate Crew and works tirelessly to provide for his family.
Alejandro is in critical condition at Mission Hospital. His family needs our support. We are setting a goal to raise $75,000 for the family to use for medical care, missed work and whatever else they need in this immensely difficult time. He needs his community to gather together to take care of his family right now. We need to show up the way Alejandro shows up - with care, dedication, love, support, and a smile.
We are heartbroken for his family. Please do what you can to help."
