Bryson City -- August 28, 2022 The Swain County Sheriff's Office got a call on Thursday, August 25, 2022,
reporting gunfire near Kirkland Creek Road and Sheppard Creek Road.

When they arrived, deputies discovered that Bryson City resident Gregory Lee Cline, 46, had reportedly fired the bullets before fleeing the scene. After a search of the area, Mr. Cline was found and taken into custody.
He faces the following charges: assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, felon in possession of a firearm, going armed to terrorize people, and damage to personal property were the charges brought against Cline.
A security bond for $65,000 was provided to Cline.
