Asheville, NC -- Asheville Police Department Feb. 3, 2020

A man who was working on his vehicle near Haywood Street yesterday when it accidentally ran over him succumbed to his injuries today at the hospital.

Victor Earl Jordan (10/11/1956) was working on his 1984 Ford pickup around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday near the 200 block of Haywood St. While outside of his vehicle, he tried to start his vehicle, but it went into gear and drove forward, unfortunately running him over. Witnesses at the scene lifted the vehicle off of him and onto its side.
Jordan was transported to Mission Hospital in critical condition. His next of kin has been notified.
APD’s Traffic Safety Unit is continuing their investigation
