Man Arrested on Multiple Online Child Exploitation Charges

Yancey County --  Steven Alex Hollifield of Green Mountain was taken into custody by the Yancey County Sheriff's Office after an investigation

into a report that the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force received.

Hollifield was charged with twenty (20) counts of Third Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor by Yancey County Sheriff's Office Detective Jason Edmonds.  These accusations are related to the internet distribution and/or ownership of content that involves the sexual exploitation of children.

The ICAC Task Force was notified of possible criminal activities, which prompted the start of the inquiry.  In order to proceed with charges, Detective Edmonds sought to identify the suspect and collect the required evidence.
