
Asheville Police Arrest Suspect in Tuesday Night Shooting
Asheville -- Following a shooting that happened late Tuesday night in south Asheville and left one man with non-life-threatening injuries,
detectives from the Asheville Police Department have detained and charged a suspect.
On May 13th, at around 11:14 p.m., officers arrived at a Crest Avenue residence to look into a complaint of a victim who had been shot. Officers discovered on the way that a victim with a non-life-threatening leg gunshot wound was being transported to Mission Hospital by a third party before they arrived.
Officers discovered the suspect had escaped but was thought to be in a nearby property when they arrived on the site. The suspect, Oshua Archie Peak (06/21/1995), was not found despite a search of the region and remained at large until this morning when he was arrested and charged.

-Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
-Discharging a Firearm Into an Occupied Dwelling
-Discharging a Firearm Within City Limits

-Warrant: Felony Probation Violation x2
Peak was booked into the Buncombe County Detention facility under NO BOND (ineligible for release) by a magistrate due to the Pretrial Integrity Act.
