Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Sanitation Vehicle in Asheville

Asheville -- Patrol officers from the Asheville Police Department are investigating a single-vehicle accident that happened this morning and left a pedestrian dead.

Around 7:45 a.m. on April 16th, APD Patrol Officers arrived at the scene of the ccident close to the intersection of Highland Place and Sunset View.  

According to the preliminary inquiry, a pedestrian was struck by a sanitation vehicle from the City of Asheville.  

The next of kin has been informed that Sally Anne Wheeler (03/29/1951) passed away on the scene her wounds.
