
McDowell County Sheriff's Charge Sex Offender for Not Registering
McDowell County -- Marion resident Corey Nathan Hall, 33, was charged with felony Failure to Register by the McDowell County Sheriff's Office.
ย A $50,000 secured bond was issued to him.

Deputy Washburn received a complaint on April 2 regarding a suspicious person sleeping on the driveway of an empty lot in a residential neighborhood in the Marion area. ย Hall informed Deputy Washburn that the property belonged to a family member when they arrived at the lot
He had not registered in McDowell, despite being a registered sex offender in Rutherford County, it was found. ย After being told that he had violated his sex offender registration, Hall was told to move to McDowell and register with Rutherford County.
The following day, additional calls from the neighborhood were made to the Sheriffโs Office in reference to Hall being back on the property.ย
Captain Paul Alkire responded to the vacant lot to speak with Hall about registering as a sex offender. Hall informed Capt. Alkire that he had not registered although he was told to do so.ย
Hall was arrested and transported to the McDowell County Detention Center.
