Asheville --  Asheville Police Department Press Release Detectives from the Asheville Police Department are looking into gunshots that occurred

in downtown Asheville early on Sunday

morning. Fortunately, no one was hurt, and as of now, the only damage documented is property damage.

Around 1:29 a.m. on March 2, officers swiftly reacted to multiple pistol discharges in downtown Asheville. A victim called to report that a gunshot had hit the window of their Woodfin Street home while police tried to determine the scene and the people involved. They found a bullet in the other wall and a hole in the glass when they arrived. Officers responded quickly, identifying and locating the two implicated vehicles—a gray Dodge Charger with two bullet holes and a white Ford Fusion with four—in different places. According to preliminary inquiry, which includes the recovery of important evidence, the gunshots were caused by an altercation in a North Lexington Street company parking lot.
