
Man Sentenced in Henderson County for First-Degree Burglary
Hendersonville -- Press Release Henderson County District Attorney's Office: Man pleads guilty to First-Degree Burglary in Henderson County
On February 28, 2025, Kevin Eugene Mapp, Jr,
40, from Asheville, pled guilty to First-Degree Burglary, Larceny after Breaking and Entering, and to two counts of Financial Card Theft, announced R. Andrew Murray, District Attorney for Henderson, Polk, and Transylvania Counties. Superior Court Judge Peter Knight presided over the Henderson County Criminal Superior Court Session and sentenced the defendant.
According to the investigation and court trial records, on November 24, 2024, Mapp was involved in a traffic accident in Buncombe County, where he exchanged personal information with the victim. Having this personal information, Mapp, on December 14, 2024, broke into the victim’s home in Henderson County while the home was occupied and during nighttime hours. Physical evidence such as cell phone data, a video recording, and a pawn ticket lead law enforcement to Mapp.
