Buncombe County -- December 11, 2024: Buncombe County Government: As the holiday season approaches,

don’t forget that Buncombe County property taxes are due by Jan. 6, 2025. 

While we understand many are still recovering from Hurricane Helene, North Carolina law does not allow waivers or extensions for property taxes due to natural disasters.

Pay Your Tax Bill Your Way:
In-Person: Visit us at 94 Coxe Ave., Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. (Avoid the rush—lines may be long closer to the deadline.)
Online: Pay from anywhere at buncombecounty.org/paytaxes. No fees for electronic check payments!
By Mail: Send checks/money orders to:

P.O. Box 3140, Asheville, NC 28802-3140
Drop Boxes: Available at 35 Woodfin St., 94 Coxe Ave., Black Mountain Library, and Weaverville Library.
By Phone: Call (828) 656-5636 with your bill handy.

Important Notes:
Payments must be received or postmarked by Jan. 6 to avoid a 2% interest fee.
Winter weather closures could impact in-person payments—plan ahead!
The new maximum credit card payment for 2024 is $4,000 per bill.
