Asheville Police Investigating Shooting On Livingston Street
Asheville -- December 6, 2024: Press Release: The Asheville Police Department is investigating a shooting that left
one man in critical condition and another person with minor injuries following an altercation that occurred on Livingston Street Thursday night.
Officers responded to a report of a gunshot wound victim in the 200 block of Livingston Street around 9:00 p.m. on December 5th. Shortly after arriving, officers learned that a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck was being driven to Mission Hospital for emergency treatment. The victim remains in critical condition. The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries from a gunshot wound to the wrist and was treated at the hospital.
Following an investigation, the shooting occurred after an altercation in a parking lot between the victim and three unidentified Black males. During the altercation, one of the men drew a firearm and shot through the driver’s side window, striking the victim and grazing the driver.
