Suspect in Asheville Shooting Arrested

Asheville -- November 14, 2024: Yesterday the Asheville police department arrested the suspect wanted in the shooting death of Makala Lashea Harrison.

The incident occurred on November 9, 2024, on South French Broad Avenue.
Darren Lamont Clayton was taken into custody in Jacksonville, by law enforcement in Jacksonville, North Carolina at 4:30 pm. 

The Asheville police department thanked the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, and Onslow County Sheriff’s Office in a press release.
