Two People Face Drug Charges in Rutherfordton County

Rutherfordton County -- May 6, 2024: On Wednesday, a joint investigation between both Rutherford and Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office

led to the execution of a search warrant in Ellenboro.

During the execution of the search warrant the A.C.E. TEAM assisted by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol, and Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office seized 169.2 grams of Methamphetamine. As a result, the following subjects were arrested and charged with the following:

Christopher Cody Smart of Ellenboro:
Trafficking Methamphetamine
He received a $100,000 secured bond.

Brian Andrew Self of Ellenboro:
Maintaining a Dwelling for Controlled Substance
He received a $25,000 unsecured bond.
