Missing Asheville Man Found Deceased in Old Fort

McDowell County -- April 24, 2024: The McDowell County Sheriff's Office was called to an abandoned store on Batcave

Road in the Old Fort neighborhood at around 1:00 PM on April 22nd, where they discovered a deceased individual, later identified as 22-year-old DeAndre "Desmond" Clark. Late last week, there were reports of Clark going missing from Asheville.

The cause of death is being ascertained today through an autopsy. The investigation is on going.
