Investigation, Home Raid, Result in Gun, Drug Charges
McDowell County -- April 17, 2024: A significant level of drug activity at the Marion home of the Goforths sparked a drug investigation in October of 2023.
The warrant for a search of the suspects' shared residence was executed on March 28 by McDowell County Drug Enforcement Detectives, Marion Police Department SWAT team members, and Sheriff's Office personnel. They found fentanyl through the search.
The McDowell County Sheriff's Department announced the following arrests:
Mason Goforth with felonious Maintaining a Dwelling for a Controlled Substance, felonious Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance and felonious Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver a Schedule I Controlled Substance. Goforth was issued a $30,000 secured bond.
Terry Goforth was charged with Possession of Firearm by Felon. Goforth was issued a $20,000 secured bond.
Shannon Mills was charged with felonious Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance and felonious Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver a Schedule I Controlled Substance. Mills was issued a $1,000 secured bond.
