Traffic Stop Results in Drug Charges in McDowell County
McDowell County -- March 19, 2024: Mcdowell County Detective and McDowell County Sheriff’s Office Community Impact Team
charged 42-year-old Timothy Brian Rhoades with felonious Possession of Methamphetamine, felonious Possession of a Synthetic Cannabinoid, Possession of Marijuana up to ½ Ounce and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Rhoades was issued a $20,000 secured bond.
On March 13th, Detective D. Jones was patrolling the area of 221 south and initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle, driven by Rhoades, for traffic violations. While Jones was checking his licenses, Rhoades attempted to dispose of narcotics out of the passenger window of the vehicle. A subsequent search turned up methamphetamine, marijuana and a vaporizing device containing cannabis concentrates.
