    4. Georgia Fugitive Arrested in Macon County

    Macon County -- February 11, 2024: On Thursday, the Macon County Sheriffโ€™s Office collaborated with US Marshals to follow up on a lead about a fugitive from Georgia convicted of voluntary manslaughter.

    The investigation aimed to locate the fugitive, who was believed to be hiding in Macon County.

    Melvin Barkley of Carroll County Georgia escaped work detail around a week ago in Georgia and was apprehended today, quickly and without incident.
