Asheville Police Arrest 1 Armed Felon, 1 Wanted Man
Asheville: September 14, 2023: Tuesday afternoon, while enforcing crime prevention measures, Asheville Police Department Officers and Detectives apprehend an armed felon in possession of a pistol with an extended magazine and a wanted man.
On the afternoon of September 12, APD officers made contact with Saquain Jamar Mingo on Short Coxe Avenue. He escaped on foot as they made contact with him. When Mingo was captured in the neighborhood, authorities discovered that he was in possession of a pink rucksack that held a gun. A second person, Trevon Demarkus Stone, who was wanted on a Grand Jury Indictment, was also arrested by police shortly after. Southside Avenue was the location of Stone's arrest.

-Possession of Firearm by Felon
-Felony Flee to Elude Arrest w/ Motor Vehicle
-Carrying a Concealed Gun
-Resist/Delay/Obstruct
-Driving While License Revoked
Mingo was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $50,000 secured bond (or $5,000 to a bondsman) issued by the magistrate.

Stone was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility and released under a written promise issued by the magistrate.
