Former Kindergarten Teacher, Pastor Arrested

Burke County -- August 21, 2023: On Tuesday, a former Morganton kindergarten teacher and senior pastor was arrested and charged with a child sex crime.

According to the Burke County Sheriff's Office: On August 22, 2023, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office investigated a cyber-tip that was received from Internet Crimes Against Children.

Aaron Doyle Mirtsching was charged with 3 counts of Third Degree Exploitation of a Minor. Mirtsching was arrested without incident and issued a $20,000 secured bond with his first court appearance set for August 24, 2023.
