Asheville -- August 3, 3023: Asheville Police announced following an investigation by Detectives, arrest warrants for sexual activity with a  child were served on a man.

The warrants were issued as a result of an investigation conducted by Family Justice Center detectives in collaboration with the Mountain Child Advocacy Center and the Buncombe County District Attorney's Office.

In the early morning hours of August 2, detectives and officers searched a residence on Old Haywood Road. Darwin Esav Mestanva-Martinez was arrested shortly after for a juvenile-involved sexual assault case that began on June 16th.  
Mestanva-Martinez is charged with two charges of Indecent Liberties with a Minor and two counts of Kidnapping in the First Degree. A magistrate granted him a bond of $100,000.
