Asheville Teen Shot in Leg
Asheville -- July 15, 2023: Officers with the Asheville Police Department were called to Mission Hospital around 10:00 PM Friday in response to a report of a person suffering from a gunshot wound.
Officers found a young person of 16 years of age who had been shot once in the leg. The wound was single. The adolescent disclosed to the authorities that he had been wounded in a shooting that occurred on Livingston Street.
In 2023 there have been 18 people injured or killed by firearms in Asheville.
At this time Detectives are searching for evidence, including the identity of the passers-by who dropped the victim off at the hospital.
