APD Arrest Man for Slashing Victim During an Argument
Asheville -- June 3, 2023: On Monday afternoon, Asheville Police arrested a man for stabbing another.
APD officers responded to a stabbing at Haywood and College Street at about 4 p.m. on June 5.
A witness informed the officers two males arguing, one of them pulled out a buck knife, began swinging, cut the victim's hand, and disappeared before the police arrived.
The victim was taken to Mission Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. In a neighboring parking garage, police arrested 54 -year-old William Garland Kuykendall.
Kuykendall was charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $3,000 secured bond (or $300 to a bondsman) issued by the magistrate.
