APD Identify Counterfeit Bills Suspect
Asheville -- The Asheville Police Department first reported oMarch 24, 2023 their investigation into a number
of occurrences involving fake currency. Over a dozen fake $100 bills were alleged to have been delivered to a
Hendersonville Road business in the previous three months.
The individual was recently caught on surveillance
using a fake $100 bill to make a purchase and receiving real money in exchange.

April 5, 2023, Asheville, North Carolina Reece Coy Johnson was recognized by Asheville Police Department officers,
who have charged him with Obtaining Property by False Pretenses as of 12/21/1990.
In order to find Johnson, who is described as a 32-year-old Caucasian male, 6'1", 180 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes, the Asheville Police are appealing to the general public. He has numerous tattoos, including a tree in the middle of his back, a fishhook on his left hand, and the face of a woman on his left forearm.
