Asheville -- Friday afternoon's bank robbery in south Asheville led to the quick arrest of a suspect
by Asheville Police Department officers.

A man entered First Citizen's Bank (2106 Hendersonville Road) at 3:03 in the afternoon and approached a teller demanding money. Jeremy Quinn McCanless took the money and walked out of the bank. When officers arrived on the scene,
McCanless was trying to flee when he was quickly caught.
Following an investigation by police in touch with the FBI, McCanless was charged with Robbery with a Deadly Weapon, Communicating Threats, and Resisting Public Officer.

McCanless was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under an $83,000 secured bond (or $8,300 to a bondsman) issued by the magistrate.
