Fentanyl Overdose at Rutherford County Detention Facility

Rutherford County -- February 14, 2023: On February 7, 2023, a fentanyl overdose happened at the
Rutherford County Detention Facility.

The patient was saved by the actions of Detention Sgt. B. Cole, Detention Cpl. Morrison, and Detention Ofc. Greene.
As soon as the call came in, EMS was there and took the patient to the hospital for further evaluation.

The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office would like to thank these Officers and other Detention staff for acting quickly.
Staff from Detention, Detectives, Forensics, Narcotics, and Administration quickly found out who was responsible for
having and distributing the controlled substance.
