son's arrest on January 4, 2023 

Two Charged in Haywood County Death  The charges have now been upgraded to First Degree Murder on the
son and the mother, First Degree Murder and on the mother of Canton, NC, for Accessory After The Fact to
First Degree Murder.

Below is a Press Release from the Haywood County Sheriff's Office January 31, 2023

January 30, 2023, Waynesville, North Carolina – A Haywood County Grand Jury returned indictments on Noah Journey McKinnley Bolden, 26 of Canton, NC, for First Degree Murder and on Jeanie Bolden, 57 of Canton, NC, for Accessory After The Fact to First Degree Murder. Those indictments have been served and both are being held in the Haywood County Detention Center. Noah Bolden is being held on NO bond and Jeanie Bolden is being held on a $1,050,000.00 bond. In our system of Justice, persons charged with crimes are presumed to be innocent unless and until they are found guilty in a court of law.

This heartless crime has impacted our community and we appreciate the patience of our citizens. We understand our community has had questions surrounding this case. Preparing a case of this magnitude takes time and diligence to ensure that details are accurate and nothing is missed. We owe this type of investigation to the victim, her family, and to our community. Our office is committed to doing everything in our power to see that justice is served for Julia Holland.
